Is there a minimum or maximum?
Yes. The minimum is one full standard-size bag or an equivalent box. The maximum is 10 standard-size bags or small/medium boxes combined per pickup.
What if I have more than 10 bags or boxes?
Request another pickup for the following day. Additional pickups are subject to availability.
Requesting pickup
How does contactless pickup work?
Pack everything, place it outside, then text your pickup address and a photo showing exactly where the bags or boxes are located.
When should I text?
Text only after everything is fully packed and outside in its final pickup location.
Where should I leave everything?
Outside your home in a dry, easy-to-reach location, such as a front porch or covered carport. We do not enter homes, garages, sheds, or other buildings, and we do not open doors or gates.
Do I need an appointment, phone call, or meeting?
No. There are no appointments or phone calls, you do not need to be home, and no face-to-face interaction is required.
What text updates will I receive?
We’ll confirm your request, notify you before collection, and text again when the pickup is complete. You do not need to respond unless something changes.
Area and timing
Where do you provide pickup?
We serve Sequim, Port Angeles, and nearby Clallam County communities. If you are unsure whether your address is included, email us before preparing your pickup.
What are your pickup hours?
Pickup requests are generally handled seven days a week between 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM. Requests received after 8:00 PM may be handled the following day.
How quickly will you arrive?
Most pickups are completed within a few hours when practical and generally within 24 hours. Specific arrival times are not guaranteed; we’ll text if an unexpected delay occurs.
After pickup
What happens to the items?
Our goal is to keep useful items in circulation and give them another purpose. Depending on condition and available opportunities, items may be resold, passed along to individuals or families in need—including veterans—reused, repurposed into new items, or recycled where appropriate. Destinations are not guaranteed.
Is Closet Cleanout Local a charity?
No. Closet Cleanout Local is a for-profit service, not a nonprofit charity, and we do not issue tax-deductible donation receipts.
